SouthNZ Honeybees collect their nectar from the outstanding landscapes around the top of the South Island of New Zealand. With the rugged Southern Alps, wild rivers and beautiful coastlines as a backdrop including three National Parks this region is truly special – it is no wonder the honey tastes so good!

New Zealand’s second largest national park, Kahurangi National Park, is our immediate neighbour. The name Kahurangi means ‘treasured possession’, which is the perfect way to describe the unspoilt 450,000 hectares. It stretches from Golden Bay in the North, to Murchison in the South, right across to the West Coast.

Over half of New Zealand’s 2400 native plant species grow here, including 67 which are found nowhere else. Eighteen species of native birds keep Kahurangi’s forest alive with song. This stunning national park has abundant flora and fauna and is also home to the largest known cave system in the southern hemisphere. How lucky we are to have this on our doorstep.
